Dear SVDP,
I was concerned to see this photo taken from the Mittagong SVDP store, posted to a feminist Facebook page, and I hope no Qld store or office is showing such a sign.
Why has SVDP singled out two groups to welcome while staying quiet about any other groups e.g. women, liberationists, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, refugees, Muslims and Jews.
Why not include a sign expressing welcome to everyone. The implication is that some of us are not welcome and this lack of welcome applies in particular to anyone who does not support gender identity ideology.
The sign also suggests that LGB people, in particular, support gender identity ideology. This is not the case. Many LGB people are strongly opposed to gender identity ideology.
You would be aware that Australian lesbians lost a legal case which seeks to publicly advertise lesbian events ie events that are open only to lesbians. Australian lesbians must include lesbian identifying men under the law. Victoria Lesbian Action Group is in the process of appealing this to the Federal Court.
You would also be aware that Sall Grover lost her legal case seeking to exclude a man (who identifies as a woman) from her app for women and girls. All she wants is to be able to host an app for Australian women and girls. Most members of the Australian community support this, but seemingly not SVDP. Mittagong. Ms Grover is raising funds to support her appeal.
You would also be aware that breastfeeding specialist Jasmine Sussex has had a vilification complaint made against her to QCAT by a man called Jennifer Buckley, supported by the Qld Human Rights, because Jasmine stated men can’t breastfeed. This notion also is promoted by gender identity ideology.
You must also be aware that the pink and blue flag being promoted by SVDP Mittagong was designed by a pedophile. It is shameful, and deeply insulting to children who have been abused by pedophiles to have this flag promoted.
I would like to know whether this regressive.and exclusionary Welcome Sign is being promoted in any SVDP store or office. I look forward to receiving your response.
