WDI Feminist Question Time with Isla MacGregor

Women’s Declaration International (WDI) hosts Feminist Question Time, a weekly online webinar attended by a global feminist and activist audience of 200–300 participants. The focus is on how gender ideology is undermining the rights of women and girls. Recordings of past panels are available on WDI’s YouTube channel.

This Week’s Speaker: Isla McGregor – Australia

Topic: Censorship of Gender-Critical Women in Tasmania
Isla has been organising and campaigning on women’s sex-based rights since 2012. Over this time, she has witnessed the persistent bias of the Australian press—particularly the ABC and SBS—and has seen firsthand the extent of ideological capture within many institutions and NGOs that might otherwise be expected to uphold impartiality in matters of public debate. Isla will speak about the organisations and individuals who have actively worked to silence women’s voices, preventing fair representation of their views in both public forums and the media in Tasmania and nationally.

Bio: Isla has been an advocate for whistleblowers in Tasmania and Australia since the 1990s. In 2012, she worked alongside Sheila Jeffreys on the campaign against the push for full decriminalisation of the sex trade in Tasmania. In 2018, Isla and several other women co-founded Women Speak Tasmania to oppose self-ID legislation in the state.
